Part 2 is finally here. Last week we discussed rapid, intermediate, and short acting insulins so this week we’re discussing basal + combination insulins and the role of the dietitian related to. Today, guest dietitian Corey Colson shares his knowledge as a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) on the subject matter.
◤About Corey Colson, MS, RDN, LDN, CDE◥🎉
Corey currently lives in Springfield, IL and works as a
Registered Dietitian/Certified Diabetes Educator at an outpatient diabetes clinic.
He obtained his Bachelors of Science in Dietetics & Masters of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Eastern Illinois University
He recently passed my CDE boards in 2018
He started his schooling in nursing and switched majors to dietetics after finding nursing wasn’t a good fit for him. He has always had a passion for nutrition and decided to specialize in diabetes as that has been something extremely important to him. Corey has lived with Type 1 Diabetes for the last 10 years and finds it rewarding to help others manage their diabetes and live healthy lives. His interests include blood sugar management through diet and exercise, insulin resistance in Type 2 patients, endurance running and diabetes and insulin titrations.
In his free time he enjoys running, hiking, cooking and spending time with his family.
