Nutrition intake can be used to detect how well or poor your patient or client is eating. It can identify inadequate energy intake, macronutrient and micronutrient deficiencies, and malnutrition to name a few. Currently there are 5 nutrition assessment intake methods that are critical for clinical and non-clinical dietitians to be aware of when considering the best method to use for their individual client.
The appropriate method to choose depends on a variety of factors. These factors include, but are not limited to the population, availability of resources, skills of the practitioner, and the reason.
